How to post a job that gets real applications

This article shows you exactly how to post a job on ZedHires, what the form asks for, and what happens after you hit submit. If you follow the guidance here your listing should be live within 24 hours — usually faster.

Where to find the form

The post-a-job form lives inside your employer dashboard — it is not a public page. From your dashboard, click Post a new job in the top right.

A dialog opens with all the fields you need to fill in.

What each field is for

Company name. The public-facing name candidates will see on your listing. If your registered name is different from the name you trade as, use the trading name.

Company logo. Optional but strongly recommended. Listings with a logo get more clicks in our testing. PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP up to 2 MB.

Contact email. This is the email that receives applications. It also determines which account the job belongs to — any job whose contact email matches your sign-in email shows up on your dashboard with full analytics. Use the same email you signed up with.

Job title. Be specific. "Senior Mining Engineer" converts better than "Engineer Needed". Include seniority level and discipline.

Location. City and province. The dropdown also accepts Remote if the role is location-independent.

Salary range. Optional, but including a range roughly doubles application rates in our data. If you must leave it off, candidates assume it's below market.

Job type. Full-time, part-time, contract, internship, or remote.

Job description. This is the heart of your listing. Cover responsibilities, requirements, and what a successful candidate looks like. The minimum is 40 characters — aim for 400–800 words.

Application deadline. Listings are automatically archived the day after the deadline passes.

The review process

When you submit, three things happen in sequence:

  1. Your listing enters the review queue. Our team checks it against a short quality checklist (company matches the contact email domain, description is specific, salary is realistic for the role).
  2. The fraud classifier scores it. We run every new listing through a legitimacy classifier. Scores at or above 70 are auto-approved. Anything lower gets flagged for a human reviewer.
  3. It goes live. Usually within a business day. You'll get an email confirmation, and the listing appears at the top of zedhires.com/jobs.

What gets a listing flagged

From the patterns we track: asking candidates to pay any fee, WhatsApp-only contact with no company email, unrealistically high salary for entry-level roles, urgent-hiring pressure language, and requests for personal documents like bank details or NRC numbers before an interview. If your legitimate role triggers a flag, respond to the email and we'll unblock it — usually the fix is one sentence added to the description.

Candidates can apply through the form at the top of the page or by email — both routes count as an application click in your analytics.
