Reviewing applicants with the ZedHires ATS
Where applications land, how to shortlist, reject or mark candidates hired, and how the status dropdown works.
When a candidate applies to one of your jobs, their application lands in the Applications tab of your employer dashboard. This is ZedHires' applicant tracking system, and it's where you review, shortlist, reject, or mark candidates as hired.
Where to find it
From your dashboard, click the Applications tab.
Applications tab with no applications yet
If you haven't received any applications yet, this is what you see. Once candidates apply, the empty state is replaced by a table.
What each column tells you
- Candidate. The applicant's name and the slug of the job they applied to. If you run multiple listings, this tells you which job the application is for.
- Contact. Email and phone. Email is clickable — it opens your mail client pre-addressed to the candidate.
- CV. A link the candidate pasted in the application form — usually a Google Drive or Dropbox link. Opens in a new tab. If blank, the candidate didn't include one and you may want to reply asking for it.
- Status. A dropdown. Every application starts as new. Change it to shortlisted, rejected, or hired as you review.
- Received. The date the application came in.
Reviewing applications
The status dropdown updates immediately — there's no save button. Changing a status triggers a quick check that the application belongs to a job you own, then writes the new status to our database.
A simple workflow that works for most employers:
- Triage first pass — mark any application that clearly doesn't meet your minimum requirements as rejected.
- Shortlist the top candidates — pick the top 5–10 for interviews.
- Hire one — when you make an offer and the candidate accepts, mark them hired.
- Close out — mark remaining shortlisted candidates rejected with a polite email. Good hiring hygiene pays off on future roles.
Applicant privacy
Applications are visible only to the employer whose contact email matches the listing. We do not share applicant data with third parties, and candidates control whether they supply a CV link. For now, application reviews happen through this interface; a future release will add in-dashboard messaging so you don't need to switch to email.
What if my job isn't here yet?
Jobs on ZedHires are currently seeded from our editorial team for launch. If you signed up and your contact email doesn't match any listing, nothing will show here — that's expected. Post a job through the dashboard and applications will start arriving within hours.
