Our story
ZedHires was founded on 24 July 2025 by a small team of Zambian recruitment and software professionals who were frustrated with how scattered job-hunting had become. Vacancies were buried in WhatsApp groups, locked behind newspaper paywalls, or posted on international platforms with no visibility into the local context. We wanted a single, trustworthy place where someone in Mongu, Solwezi or Lusaka could find a real job without paying a kwacha.
What we do
We curate vacancies from Zambian employers across mining, banking, health, education, agriculture, NGOs, hospitality and technology. Every job description is read by a person before going live — we flag obvious scams, vague roles and discriminatory language, but we are not the employer and cannot guarantee the accuracy of any specific listing.
Editorial standards
ZedHires is editorially independent. We do not accept payment in exchange for favourable placement of any specific candidate, and we never ask job seekers to pay for applications, “processing fees” or training before being shortlisted.
Who's behind this
ZedHires is run by Bright Kapamulomo and Joseph Phiri, both Zambian software engineers with computer science backgrounds.
Bright is a full-stack developer with experience across DevOps, Android, and data engineering. He works on data platforms for Zambian organisations in the health sector and beyond, building production systems that run on real infrastructure for real users.
Joseph is an Android developer focused on building mobile products that work well on the devices most Zambians actually use — entry-level Android phones with limited data and patchy connectivity.
Neither of us comes from a traditional recruitment background. We're software engineers who got tired of watching capable people miss opportunities because the information was so scattered, and decided to build something better.
Editorial input on career content comes from a small network of Zambian friends and collaborators who work in HR, recruitment, and across various industries we cover. ZedHires is not affiliated with any single employer or recruitment agency.
